The Age of Heroes
From Drayden’s Character Biography
Drayden Steelshaper had just finished completing his apprenticeship as an Armorer just as father had expected of him. Resigned to join the family business, Drayden’s life was upended when a mysterious courier showed up at his family’s doorstep. It was a summons from a wizard (!) from the legendary free city of Greyhawk (!!!). Drayden’s mind was instantly swimming with possibilities. His secret desire to see the world and become an adventurer was now stoked into an unquenchable blaze and he stole away in the night, leaving only a note to his family to explain his absence. Of the many companions called by Modius, Drayden’s journey from his homeland of Ket was beset time and time again but it only steeled his resolve as he traveled onward. In time, Drayden would meet the bulk of his companions as he came across the elven thief, Ix, a half-elf Ranger/Druid named Lyks and a priest of Ralishaz, the god of madness known as Reizhodd, traveling together. During idle chatter it was discovered that all were summoned by the very same mage. Drayden and the others pressed on to discover what fate would bring them next. Upon entering the majestic city of Greyhawk, Drayden knew instantly that he had made the right choice, that the honor and glory that he imagined in his quiet moments was now within his grasp. He was part of something larger than himself, his homeland, and his father’s dreams.
